Walking into the Shaw’s home was full of excitement- squealing kiddos, music, and an eagerness for what we were about to capture. Bethany and I had previously talked on the phone about this little video session, but I honestly had no idea just how blessed I’d be by filming this. Their smiles are all contagious, Bethany is pregnant with their third child, and the amount of laughs and snuggles you’ll see are way too many to count!
With this also being a fun gender reveal for their baby (which they’ve fondly given the name “Pip” for the time being, like the size of an orange pip!), Bethany came up with a fun way to announce it on video. We knew we were planning to do a picnic for part of the session, so she whipped up both pink and blue popsicles! What’s so surreal is that I got to find out the gender right before they did so that I could be the one to bring out the right color popsicles for them to eat! You should’ve seen me standing by myself in their kitchen while they were outside waiting- I was so excited to open that little envelope and see what their ultrasound tech had circled: “Surprise! Baby Pip is a…” I was completely giddy! Do you want to know what they’re having? Watch this sweet video to find out!
After the session, we all sat in the grass eating our popsicles, just chatting and getting to know each other some more. Words don’t do justice to the emotions I had running through me this entire shoot, watching this family of three love on each other in their home, a place that’s so personal to them, and witnessing their excitement about becoming a family of 4!
When Chloe welcomed me to film her little family, I’m telling you, I was over the moon to say the very least! Everly is just around 6 weeks old in this film, and my goodness you guys, what a special time to be able to capture this. She is still so little and figuring out her surroundings, and the moment she is held or locks eyes with her parents, I felt I was truly witnessing a miracle.
This just serves as a reminder of how glorious and good our God is, watching her parents be so impacted by her presence and vice versa. From her tiny little toes to big blue eyes, to that wispy hair and her sweet sounds, I think I’m totally sold on filming these little ones. I don’t take for granted what a gift it was for me to be able to spend this time with the Lukas, they are just the most kind, gentle, spirit-filled family! I left this shoot feeling so impacted myself by their love for each other and their kindness toward me. To this sweet girl and her parents, you might think you’re the only ones who were blessed on this day, but I truly was as well!
We met Emma for the first time last night and giiiirl, she’s just as amazing as I anticipated! We’ve connected with each other online for the past few months, watching each other’s lives from afar, supporting each other’s work. It was so good to finally meet this friend and watch her do her thing! Bradford Woods was a beautiful, earthy spot to capture these moments with her couple. We all shared some laughs, and a few mosquito bites. This is where we thrive- the great outdoors!
I’m so happy we got to do this for Emma, her photography is boooomb so go check her out! She is so fun to be around, smiley, real, and I can totally identify with the amount of times she says “Perfect!” at her shoots (we all have our words, ha!). The night was golden, we had the lake in front of us and trees all around. Would I do it again? Every day.
That’s right, we’re doing mini video sessions!! We’re carving out some time in one of our favorite Indy shops, Grounded Plant Floral Co. to film sweet mini videos for you guys, and we’re just so excited! Pop in for your time slot and we’ll create your film together in this gorgeous, plant-filled space that’s so dear to us. We’ve done weddings with the owner who is also a talented florist, and one of our very best friends works here! It’s such a fun place to peruse, and it always smells amazing (they have candles that smell like French baguettes, you guys!).

You guys, yoooou guuuys!! I’m a little bit obsessed over this. The whole thing, top to bottom, start to finish, dogs to dancing. Ayren and Stefan welcomed us into their sweet little home to film their love and if I’m honest, I dreamt about this video last night. It’s just too good, too full of light and loving energy.
These two are getting married in the desert later this month, and I wanted to capture this precious, exciting time for them on film. Plus we got kisses from their husky Sedona, and we all laughed a lot together as they basically made out the entire time just like I hoped (I’m not even a little sorry, kissing looks so good on film!).
Days like these are a blessing, and I’m totally here for it!
To think when I first met Ashley 4 years ago that I’d get to film this sweet video of her and her daughter, we might have both laughed in your face. They weren’t thinking of having kids anytime soon, and I definitely had no intention of doing family films like this. I look back on these 4 years and how much has changed for both of us, but we’re still the same goofy best friends laughing over coffee and being intentional with our friendship.
When Val came into the picture, I don’t think Ashley knew what an amazing mom she would be. I think she still doesn’t. But every time I see these two together (which is a LOT, Ashley devotes so much time to this little lady), I’m reminded of what a gift moms are. I know she would do anything to see Val healthy, happy and loved. She is such a powerful example of a young mom in my life, all while devoting time to her marriage, faith, friends and her business as well.
Note to self: be more like this woman. I’ve been incredibly blessed to know this family, and gosh, to be able to share in these memories and give them a video like this is a gift I don’t want to take for granted. Here’s to a lot more giggles, peek-a-boo, and learning from each other.
It’s here!!! We had the most wonderful evening working with Emily and her sweet couple at their engagement shoot. We’ve been talking about exploring other kinds of videos we could offer, and this was such a great way to kick off the adventure! Laughs, dancing, beautiful weather and memories made with these wonderful folks.
We went home with full memory cards and even fuller hearts after this shoot. Then proceeded to have a two hour conversation about why we love and value the art of film, and how thankful we are to have this skill and continue learning as we explore new territory.
Emily and her business are packed with joy, that’s my biggest takeaway. She was all smiles and encouragement from the moment we got there and we shared a great big hug. When the couple arrived, she was totally in her element, just chatting with them about their lives, who they are and making us all feel excited to be there! It was such a unique opportunity to see the artist behind the photography- beyond knowing her craft well, she is just so engaging and fun to be around. I’m believe this is why all her images are so true to the moment, because she’s making the most of the time she has with the people in front of her camera. When we left, we couldn’t stop talking about how the past hour of filming for her hadn’t felt at all like work because we enjoyed every second!
More of this, Lord. Incredibly grateful.

This day was a very anticipated one. Rachel and Ian are first and foremost, best friends. The amount of times I saw them laugh together on their wedding day was countless, and so were the amount of times their love brought me to tears.
Through college, mutual friends, and years of friendship, the timing was finally right for them. You’ll hear it in all the toasts from people who’ve known them for years; these two are perfect for each other. Rachel is so thoughtful, sweet, intelligent and wonderful to be around. Ian is caring, witty, charming and I simply turn to mush watching him look at Rachel. They share a love of beautiful writing, travel, Kierkegaard and having friends over for dinner. They’re the kind of people you want to be around as often as you can, because you know you’re in the presence of two very genuine souls, and a very real love.
Rachel’s family home was thoughtfully turned into their wedding venue, where they said their vows, celebrated with friends and family from far and wide, and we danced long into the night. We all stuck around through breakfast the next morning under the same tent we where we spent all those late hours dancing. It was amazing to physically witness how loved these two are, and I felt so lucky to be there.
